Nwakali Goal Not Enough To Give MVV Maastricht Victory

Nigeria youngster Kelechi Nwakali was on target for MVV Maastricht but it was not enough as his side was beaten 2-1 by Den Bosch in a Dutch second division game in Holland on Friday.

The 18-year-old,who has been in decent form for the Jupiler Liga side scored the opening goal of the game in the 63rd minute but two late goals by Den Bosch denied his team victory.

Maastricht led 1-0 with 27 minutes left after Nwakali’s goal but Jeremy Fernandes levelled matters after 71 minutes and Luuk Brouwers broke Maastricht hearts with the winner four minutes before full time.

Nwakali, who was captain of the 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup-winning Nigerian team has scored two goals this current campaign with two assists in his Number 10 Jersey. Maastricht are sixth on the Dutch Jupiler Liga table with 56 points from 33 matches.
