NPFL Champions Enugu Rangers are on the blink of Continental Elimination after yet another disappointing result.
The flying antelopes blew away a two goal advantage in Enugu on Sunday when they host Zesco United from Zambia in the Caf Confederations Cup. The match started with full entertainment from both teams But it was the hosts who went ahead with about 25 minutes played when hey converted from the spot through Osas Okoro. Zesco were clearly on the back foot and were lucky to not to concede further in the 31st minute after Jacob Banda saw a shot come off the crossbar. Enugu extended the lead in the 64th minute when Osas completed his brace.
Zesco were beginning to venture a little more forward and once they got a corner, David Owino Odhiambo was on hand to pull one back for Zesco in the 71st minute. The Ndola side were determined to carry a result back home their efforts paid off in the 76th minute when Kongolo equalised.
Despite the hosts pressing in the final minutes for a goal, Zesco stood strong to carry a draw with two vital away goals back home.
Enugu came into the match on a poor run of results which has seen them sit at the bottom of the league table and once the final whistle had gone, the fans invaded the pitch and descended on their coach Imama Amapakabo.
