Callisto Pasuwa Ends Reign as Zimbabwe Coach

The Zimbabwe Football Governing Body (ZIFA) has fired Warriors head coach, Callisto Pasuwa.
Pasuwa who led the warrior to their first Afcon since 2006 had initially resigned as the national team head coach but changed his mind on his decision and insisted he would not resign after returning from Gabon.

However, following recommendations from the High-Performance Committee, the association has decided to terminate Pasuwa’s contract.
In a letter handed to Pasuwa on wednesday,ZIFA acting Secretary General, Joseph Mamutse wrote:
The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to advise that after examining the High-Performance Committee review report, we hereby advise that ZIFA will terminate with effect from the 28th of February 2017 when the contract expires and would expect you to comply with necessary requirements as well as section 5.2 of the contract.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the services you rendered during the period as national team coach.

Pasuwa led Zimbabwe to a Group stage exit at the just concluded Afcon 2017 in Gabon and has joined the list of fired Coaches after George Leekens and Avram Grant were relieved of their duties by Algeria and Ghana respectively.
