London — Arsenal continued their impressive Premier League campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
Captain Martin Ødegaard scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute as Mikel Arteta's side secured their ninth league victory in 10 matches and extended their lead at the top of the table.
Hull arrived in London determined to frustrate the champions and made life difficult for the hosts throughout the first half.
The visitors threatened early through John Egan, whose effort went narrowly wide, while Elliot Stroud also tested Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya with a dangerous attempt.
Arsenal struggled to find their rhythm in the opening period, with Kai Havertz missing a good opportunity after being played through on goal.
The hosts were also involved in a controversial VAR incident shortly before half-time. Referee Farai Hallam reviewed a shirt pull by Hull defender Nobel Mendy on Havertz inside the penalty area but ruled out a penalty after determining that the Arsenal forward was offside.
Arsenal returned for the second half with greater urgency and began putting Hull's defence under sustained pressure.
Noni Madueke forced goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis into action with a low effort, while Christos Tzolis also threatened as the Gunners searched for the breakthrough.
The decisive moment arrived in the 72nd minute. Madueke drove towards goal and unleashed a powerful shot that Tzolakis could only parry into the path of Ødegaard, who reacted quickly to fire home from close range.
The goal sparked celebrations among the home supporters, with the Arsenal captain once again demonstrating his importance to the team.
Arsenal pushed for a second goal but Hull continued to defend stubbornly. Madueke later saw another opportunity denied on the goal line as the visitors attempted to keep their hopes of an equaliser alive.
The Gunners eventually held on to claim all three points and record their fifth consecutive Premier League victory.
The result took Arsenal to 27 points from 10 matches, matching their best-ever points return at this stage of a Premier League season. They also moved six points clear of Manchester City before City's meeting with Nottingham Forest.
Hull, meanwhile, were left disappointed after a disciplined performance failed to produce a point.
