Mohamed Salah makes Turkish Super Lig history with record-breaking Trabzonspor start

Samsun, Türkiye — Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has made Turkish Super Lig history after becoming the first player to record 10 goal contributions in his opening seven league appearances for Trabzonspor, following the club’s emphatic 3–0 victory over Samsunspor.

The former Liverpool forward registered his third assist of the campaign in Saturday’s victory, taking his tally to seven goals and three assists in seven league matches. The achievement marks an outstanding start to his career in Turkish football.

Salah sets new league benchmark

Salah reached the milestone by setting up Trabzonspor’s third goal against Samsunspor. His contribution continued a prolific run since joining the Turkish club in August after ending his nine-year spell at Liverpool.

The 34-year-old has quickly established himself as a key figure in Trabzonspor’s attack, combining his goalscoring ability with creativity for his teammates.

According to Al Jazeera, no player had previously recorded 10 goal contributions in their first seven Turkish Super Lig appearances, making Salah’s achievement a new benchmark in the competition.

Trabzonspor cruise to victory over Samsunspor

Trabzonspor produced another impressive performance to secure a 3–0 away victory over Samsunspor, scoring all three goals in the first half.

The result followed their convincing 4–0 win over defending champions Galatasaray in their previous league match, meaning they scored seven goals without conceding across the two fixtures.

Despite being reduced to 10 men after Melih Kabasakal’s dismissal in the 43rd minute, Trabzonspor maintained their advantage throughout the second half.

Salah played 77 minutes before being substituted, having helped his team establish control of the match.

From Liverpool to Turkish football

Salah joined Trabzonspor in August on a two-year contract after leaving Liverpool at the end of the previous season.

During his time at Anfield, the Egypt captain became one of the Premier League’s most influential forwards, helping Liverpool win major domestic and European honours.

His move to Türkiye represented a new chapter in his career, but his early performances suggest he has adapted quickly to his new surroundings.

Trabzonspor build momentum

The victory over Samsunspor lifted Trabzonspor to third place in the league standings with 13 points, according to Pan Africa Football.

With seven goals and three assists already recorded, Salah has given the club a major attacking threat as it seeks to challenge the leading teams in the Turkish top flight.

His record-breaking start also reinforces his importance to Egypt as the national team continues its preparations for upcoming international commitments.
