IKENNE, Nigeria — The Super Falcons return to action today as they host Comoros in the second leg of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Stadium.
Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 WAT. Nigeria carry a 2-0 aggregate advantage into the match after goals from Michelle Alozie and Uchenna Kanu in the first leg on Friday.
The two-legged encounter forms part of the second round of the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers. Both matches are being played in Nigeria because Comoros do not have a CAF-approved venue capable of hosting international fixtures.
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen will look to his side to complete the job and secure progression. A win or a draw will be enough for the Super Falcons to advance, though the team is expected to push for a strong performance on home soil.
The winner of the tie will move into the third round of African qualifying, where Morocco await. Nigeria are aiming to secure one of Africa’s two available places at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, following their return to the competition at the Paris 2024 Games after a 16-year absence.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade is expected to lead the side as the Super Falcons seek to maintain their advantage and take another step towards Olympic qualification.
