Jordan Love throws three touchdowns as Packers defeat Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football

Green Bay, United States — The Green Bay Packers secured a 27-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field on Thursday night, 29 October 2026, as quarterback Jordan Love delivered three touchdown passes to help the hosts withstand a late comeback attempt.

Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, guiding Green Bay to its fifth win of the season. Running back Josh Jacobs also played a decisive role, scoring twice as the Packers improved to 5-3.

Despite committing three turnovers, Green Bay built a 17-point advantage in the third quarter before holding off Carolina's fightback.

Love leads Green Bay's offence

The Packers initially fell behind after losing possession on the opening kickoff, allowing Carolina to take an early lead with a field goal.

Love responded by connecting with tight end Tucker Kraft for a 12-yard touchdown pass. However, Green Bay missed the extra-point attempt.

Carolina answered through Chuba Hubbard, who scored a rushing touchdown to put the Panthers ahead. Green Bay then regained control when Love connected with Christian Watson for a 53-yard reception, setting up Jacobs' touchdown run.

Matthew Golden added another touchdown reception before half-time, catching a 24-yard pass from Love to extend the Packers' advantage.

Jacobs adds second touchdown as Watson returns

Green Bay strengthened its position after the break when Love found Jacobs for a four-yard touchdown reception, taking the score to 27-10.

Watson was another major contributor, recording eight receptions for 113 yards. His performance came despite a worrying incident in the second quarter, when he suffered a chest injury after making a long reception and was taken to hospital for precautionary examinations.

The receiver later returned to the stadium and rejoined the game after being cleared.

Panthers threaten late comeback

Carolina refused to surrender and gradually reduced the deficit in the closing stages.

Quarterback Bryce Young completed 23 of 41 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Hubbard contributed 81 rushing yards and a touchdown, while also recording 38 receiving yards.

The Panthers moved within eight points when Young connected with Jalen Coker for a 26-yard touchdown on fourth-and-three with 5:37 remaining. However, Carolina failed to convert the subsequent two-point attempt.

The visitors had further opportunities to threaten Green Bay, but the Packers' defence held firm. Green Bay recorded six sacks on Young, while Carolina's final attempts to overturn the deficit came to nothing.

Packers move to 5-3

The victory improved Green Bay's record to 5-3, while Carolina dropped to 3-4 following the defeat.

Although the Packers will be pleased with the result, their three turnovers and late defensive pressure from the Panthers highlighted areas that need improvement. Love's passing performance and Jacobs' two touchdowns nevertheless proved decisive on a night when Green Bay found a way to secure the win.
