Hull City Midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath Involved in Car Crash Near Training Ground

COTTINGHAM, England — Hull City midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath was involved in a car crash near the club’s training ground on Thursday morning.

A black Mercedes, understood to belong to the 24-year-old, overturned on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, East Yorkshire. Pictures from the scene showed the vehicle on its side. One resident told the BBC that the car also struck and damaged a private vehicle.

Hull City confirmed they were aware of the incident and stated that no one was harmed.

Humberside Police said emergency services were called at 08:30 GMT. It is the second crash involving a Hull City player on the same road in the space of three weeks, following a similar incident involving teammate Sorba Thomas in September.

Local resident Paul Nickerson, who lives nearby, said he arrived shortly after the vehicle overturned. “If it had happened a minute before, my wife was walking down the road with our kids taking them to school. So, it’s really worrying,” he said.

Another resident, Tracey Evans, who has lived on the road for 19 years, said she has been calling for a reduced speed limit for about a decade, particularly because of school traffic at that time of day.

The club has not issued further details beyond confirming that no one was injured in the accident.
