Feyenoord Edge Como 3-2 in Five-Goal Thriller at De Kuip

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — Feyenoord claimed their first points of the UEFA Champions League league phase with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Como at De Kuip on Wednesday night.

In an open and entertaining encounter, the Dutch side came from behind to secure the win, with an unfortunate own goal proving decisive.

Assane Diao gave the Italian visitors a shock lead in the 18th minute. The forward collected a long ball from Jacobo Ramón, shrugged off his marker and finished neatly past the goalkeeper. However, Feyenoord responded almost immediately. Just two minutes later, Gjivai Zechiël produced a superb strike from the edge of the area, assisted by Luciano Valente, to restore parity.

The second half began brightly for the hosts. In the 52nd minute, Anis Hadj Moussa cut inside from the right and drilled a low left-footed shot into the near corner to put Feyenoord ahead for the first time.

The decisive moment arrived in the 81st minute. Hadj Moussa’s long-range effort deflected off a defender and cannoned into the path of goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, who could only divert the ball into his own net for an own goal that made it 3-1.

Como refused to surrender. In stoppage time, substitute Anastasios Douvikas pulled a goal back with a well-taken finish in the 90+3rd minute, setting up a tense finale. Yet Feyenoord held firm to claim all three points in front of 43,951 supporters.

The result leaves both teams on three points after two Matchday fixtures. Feyenoord showed greater clinical edge despite Como creating several dangerous opportunities under the guidance of coach Cesc Fàbregas.

Hadj Moussa was the standout performer for the home side, contributing a goal and playing a key role in the third.
