Elche controlled much of the first half and created several promising opportunities, but Celta goalkeeper Ionuț Radu produced important saves to deny the home side a breakthrough. The visitors improved after the interval, yet neither team found the decisive goal.
Elche threaten in the first half
Elche started with greater intensity and looked to make home advantage count. Rubén Sánchez came close to opening the scoring when his effort struck the crossbar, while Tete Morente also threatened inside the penalty area.
Morente found space to shoot in the 39th minute, but Radu reacted well to keep Celta level and frustrate the hosts.
Despite Elche's attacking pressure, the first half ended goalless.
Celta respond after the break
Celta returned with greater purpose after half-time, attempting to take control of possession and put pressure on Elche's defence.
However, Elche regained their rhythm and continued to search for an opening. Marc Aguado came close with a powerful effort that narrowly missed the target.
Both sides made changes in an attempt to find a winner, but the match remained finely balanced.
Late chances fail to produce a winner
The contest opened up during the closing stages, with both teams looking for a decisive breakthrough.
Celta's Couhaib Driouech had an opportunity late in the game but sent his effort narrowly wide. At the other end, Elche's Martim Neto tested Radu, who again made the save to preserve his clean sheet.
Neither side could find a goal before the final whistle, and the points were shared.
What the result means
The draw leaves Elche still searching for their first home victory of the season. However, keeping a clean sheet offers encouragement after a run of difficult results.
Celta will also take a point from the trip, with their defensive organisation and Radu's performance proving crucial in keeping Elche off the scoresheet.
Both teams will now turn their attention to their upcoming fixtures as they seek greater consistency in LaLiga.
