Barcelona, Spain — Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026–27 La Liga season with a commanding 3–0 victory over Getafe at the Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday, 10 October 2026.
Anthony Gordon opened the scoring early in the first half before Gabriel Jesus doubled the hosts’ advantage. Jules Koundé then completed the victory after the break, extending Barcelona’s winning run in the league to eight matches.
Hansi Flick’s side returned from the international break without losing their rhythm, dominating possession and creating numerous opportunities against a Getafe team that struggled to threaten the home goal.
Gordon strikes early to put Barcelona ahead
Barcelona needed little time to establish their superiority, taking the lead in the opening minutes through Gordon.
The English forward cut inside and unleashed a shot that took a deflection off Getafe midfielder Mario Martín before beating goalkeeper David Soria.
The early goal gave Barcelona control of the contest and forced Getafe to spend much of the opening period defending deep.
Barcelona continued to apply pressure through their movement and passing, with Lamine Yamal and the supporting midfielders helping the hosts stretch the visitors’ defensive structure.
Getafe struggled to create a sustained attacking response as Barcelona dictated the tempo.
Gabriel Jesus doubles the advantage
Barcelona increased their lead in the 30th minute after capitalising on a defensive error.
Gabriel Jesus punished a misplaced pass from Getafe defender Zaid Romero, taking advantage of the turnover before finishing to make it 2–0.
The goal rewarded Jesus for his energetic performance, with the Brazilian contributing to Barcelona’s pressing as well as their attacking play.
Getafe attempted to reorganise, but Barcelona continued to control possession and limit the visitors’ opportunities before half-time.
Koundé seals comfortable Barcelona victory
Barcelona maintained their dominance after the interval and eventually added a third goal in the 73rd minute.
Yamal delivered a curling cross into the penalty area, where Koundé arrived to finish and put the result beyond doubt.
The goal capped another productive performance from the French defender, who also reached a significant milestone by equalling Éric Abidal’s record for the most appearances by a French player for Barcelona.
With a three-goal cushion, Barcelona managed the closing stages comfortably, while Getafe struggled to find a way through the hosts’ defence.
Barcelona extend perfect league record
The victory gave Barcelona 24 points from eight La Liga matches, keeping them at the top of the standings with eight consecutive league wins.
The result also matched the club’s best winning start to a league campaign, previously achieved during the 2013–14 season under Gerardo Martino.
Flick will be encouraged by the way his team returned from the international break, particularly their pressing, attacking movement and ability to turn defensive mistakes into goals.
Getafe, meanwhile, were unable to match Barcelona’s intensity and offered little attacking threat throughout the contest.
Barcelona will now turn their attention to a demanding run of fixtures, including their upcoming Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, as they seek to maintain their strong start across competitions.
