The Indian men's T20 cricket team booked a place in the gold-medal match after defeating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semi-final.
India posted 169 for seven after being sent in, with Ishan Kishan producing the standout batting performance with an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls. Teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also impressed, scoring 38 on his Asian Games debut.
Sri Lanka's chase then collapsed as India bowled them out for just 45 in 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah claimed two early wickets, while Abhishek Sharma also took two wickets as India completed a commanding victory.
India will face Pakistan in the men's cricket final after Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-affected semi-final. The final is scheduled for Saturday, October 3.
The men's hockey team also secured its place in the final after edging arch-rivals Pakistan 4–3 in a dramatic semi-final.
The victory guarantees India at least a silver medal and keeps their bid for the Asian Games hockey title alive.
India also collected medals in other events on Day 13.
• Sailing: Manu Francis and Prince Noble won silver in the men's skiff event.
• Wrestling: Nitesh secured silver in the men's Greco-Roman competition.
• Squash: Joshna Chinappa won bronze for India after the women's team competition.
• Archery: Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru won bronze in the men's compound individual event.
The day also brought setbacks for India. The men's volleyball team was eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing 3–0 to Pakistan, while Sumit Nagal exited the men's singles tennis competition after losing his quarter-final to China's Wu Yibing.
Earlier, compound archer Chikitha Taniparthi's bid for a third gold medal ended in the women's individual quarter-finals, where she lost 144–143 to Indonesia's Nurisa Dian Ashrifah.
Despite the defeat, Chikitha leaves the Games with two gold medals from the women's team and mixed-team compound events.
India's medal tally continued to rise during Day 13, with the country moving into eighth place in the overall standings according to the latest available updates.
With the men's cricket and hockey finals still to come, India remains in contention for further gold medals as the Asian Games enter their closing stages.
