The White Knights’ win lifts them to seven points from three matches as Matchday 3 of the 2026/27 season continues. The result keeps Zamalek firmly in the upper half of the table following a solid start to the campaign under coach Moatamad Gamal.
Zamalek had collected four points from their opening two fixtures and needed a positive result against Petrojet to maintain pressure on the early leaders. The three points move them closer to the top of the table, where Pyramids FC currently sit with a perfect nine points from three games.
Petrojet, who entered the match near the lower end of the standings, showed resilience but were unable to prevent Zamalek from securing the win at the Cairo International Stadium.
The victory continues Zamalek’s strong defensive record in the early stages of the season and provides further momentum as the White Knights look to challenge for major honours this term. Attention now turns to the remaining fixtures of the round as the Egyptian Premier League season gathers pace.
