Botswana took the lead in the 37th minute through Thatayaone Kgamanyane. Tunisia responded just before half-time when Hazem Mastouri equalised in the 44th minute.
Mastouri struck again early in the second half, scoring in the 49th minute to put the hosts 2-1 ahead. However, Botswana fought back and levelled the scores once more in the 60th minute through Lebogang Ditsele.
Despite dominating possession and creating more chances, Tunisia were unable to find a winning goal. The result extends their winless run and leaves both sides level on two points after two matches in Group H.
The draw continues a difficult period for the North African side, who were also held 1-1 by Uganda in their opening qualifier. Botswana remain competitive at the top of the group alongside Tunisia.
Both teams will look to improve their results in the remaining fixtures as they battle for qualification to the 2027 AFCON finals.
