Switzerland Cruise to 3-0 Win Over 10-Man Scotland in Nations League

GLASGOW, Scotland — Switzerland produced a dominant performance to defeat 10-man Scotland 3-0 in their UEFA Nations League Group B1 clash at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening.

The Swiss took control early after Scotland defender Jack Hendry was sent off in the 11th minute for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity on Dan Ndoye. Ricardo Rodríguez stepped up and curled the resulting free-kick into the top corner to give the visitors the lead after just 12 minutes.

Switzerland controlled possession and restricted Scotland to few opportunities. The second goal arrived in the 55th minute when Nico Elvedi converted a low cross from Ndoye at the near post.

Zeki Amdouni completed the scoring in the 82nd minute, lashing a powerful strike past Angus Gunn after being set up by Ndoye.

The result leaves Switzerland with a maximum six points from two matches at the top of Group B1. Scotland remain on one point and are still searching for their first win under new head coach Sébastien Pocognoli, whose first home match ended in a comprehensive defeat.

The Swiss side rarely needed to move out of second gear after the early red card and will take confidence from the clinical display as they continue their Nations League campaign. Scotland face North Macedonia next as they look to recover from the setback.
