The Indian pair finished level with Korea’s Jungyoon Park and Yonghee Choi at 157-157 after four ends before prevailing in the decisive shoot-off at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square.
The victory also secured India a place on the compound archery roster for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Chikitha had already enjoyed a successful day, forming part of the women’s team that beat China 238-234 in the final to claim India’s first archery gold of the Games. She had previously become the first Indian to win women’s individual gold in the compound category at the Junior World Championships.
For Sahil, this marked his first medal at the Asian Games. The archer had earlier won bronze in the individual event at the World Cup in Shanghai this year, silver in the men’s team at the 2025 Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka, and gold and silver at the 2025 World University Games.
The mixed team triumph continues India’s strong showing in compound archery at the Aichi-Nagoya Games and underlines the depth of talent in the discipline as the country builds towards the next Olympic cycle.
