The second seed defeated France’s Kyrian Jacquet 7-6(0), 6-1 in the semi-finals. After a tightly contested opening set, Rublev took complete control in the second, producing a dominant display of clean winners and sharp angles to close out the match.
The win gives Rublev a career record of 400-226 and places him ninth among active players for tour-level victories. He will now face top seed Daniil Medvedev in Tuesday’s final.
Medvedev also reached a landmark, recording his 350th hard-court win with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Roman Safiullin. The Russian is appearing in his fourth final of the season and sits eighth in the race to the Nitto ATP Finals.
The final will be the 10th meeting between the two Russians, with Medvedev leading their head-to-head 7-2. They last faced each other at the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals.
“I think it’s [my] second final with Andrey,” Medvedev said. “We’ve played a lot of matches and done a lot of things on the ATP Tour, so I’m really happy to see him on the other side of the net. It’s going to be a tough match for both of us.”
Rublev, who won the title in Bastad earlier this year, will be chasing his 19th tour-level trophy. Medvedev is aiming for a 24th career title as both players look to build momentum on the Asian swing.
