The top-seeded American defeated Marcondes 7–5, 6–4 in the final of the Tennis Warehouse Open to secure his fourth ATP Challenger Tour title.
Basavareddy converted five of eight break-point opportunities and won 56 per cent of the total points played during the 1-hour, 47-minute contest.
The 21-year-old had entered the tournament looking to build momentum after an inconsistent period and delivered a composed performance throughout the final.
The San Diego triumph is Basavareddy’s second Challenger title of 2026, following his victory in Savannah earlier this year. It also marks his fourth career title at Challenger level.
Basavareddy’s victory earned him 75 ATP ranking points and $17,000 in prize money. He is currently ranked No. 139 in the world.
The American previously won his first Challenger title in 2024 before returning to the winner’s circle in Savannah in April 2026, where he defeated Jack Kennedy 6–3, 6–0 in the final.
His latest title in San Diego further strengthens his position as one of the leading young American players on the ATP Challenger Tour.
