The run starts with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku on Saturday, 26 September, followed by the relocated Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia at Sepang on 4 October and the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay on 11 October. Singapore is a sprint weekend, meaning 83 points are available across the three events.
Kimi Antonelli leads the drivers’ championship on 292 points after 14 rounds. The Mercedes teenager, already the youngest driver to lead the standings, sits 81 points clear of teammate George Russell (211). Lewis Hamilton is third on 191, with Lando Norris fourth on 186 and Charles Leclerc fifth on 167.
Mercedes also hold a commanding constructors’ lead with 503 points, 145 ahead of Ferrari.
The Baku race was originally a standalone event before the Bahrain round was moved to Malaysia after Middle East cancellations earlier in the year. The Gulf Air-backed race at Sepang is the first Malaysian Grand Prix since 2017 and sits between two demanding street circuits.
Baku is notorious for safety-car periods, high-speed straights and walls that punish even small mistakes. Sepang brings heat, humidity and a high chance of rain. Singapore’s night street race is one of the most physically draining on the calendar.
Antonelli has won eight grands prix this season, including recent victories at Spa, Monza and Madrid. Rivals have been unable to close the gap consistently, but Mercedes have urged caution. Team principal Toto Wolff has stressed that the title is not yet won, and Antonelli himself has said the team must keep delivering.
With nine scheduled rounds remaining after Spain, the triple-header offers both opportunity and risk. A clean sweep would all but settle the championship. Trouble in Baku, a wet Sepang or a Singapore sprint weekend swing could reopen a fight that currently looks one-sided.
Two further triple-headers are planned later in the season as the campaign heads towards Abu Dhabi on 6 December. For now, all eyes turn to the streets of Baku, where the next phase of Antonelli’s title bid begins.
