The Al-Ittihad Ladies defender is among the experienced players recalled by interim head coach Eguavoen as the 10-time African champions begin their campaign to reach the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Plumptre joins captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, forward Asisat Oshoala and defenders Michelle Alozie and Oluwatosin Demehin in the squad announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday.
Youngsters earn Super Falcons invitations
Eguavoen has also included several young players, with Christiana Uzoma and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi earning their first senior call-ups.
Uzoma represented Nigeria at the recently concluded FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, while Adegbuyi impressed for the Flamingos during their WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup triumph.
The squad also features young talents including Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood and Janet Akekoromowei.
Comoros tie scheduled for October
The Super Falcons will face Comoros in the second round of the African qualifying competition for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Comoros are scheduled to host the first leg on 9 October, with Nigeria hosting the return fixture on 13 October 2026. Both matches will be played at Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, as Comoros do not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.
Nigeria received a bye into the second round, while Comoros advanced after defeating Sudan 30–0 on aggregate. The Super Falcons must progress through four rounds of two-legged ties to secure one of Africa’s two places at the Los Angeles Olympics. citeturn456797search9turn456797search10
