Just three minutes after Scipio came on, Antigua and Barbuda’s Keon Greene was shown a red card after pulling the Anguilla midfielder’s hair.
Another Antigua and Barbuda player was subsequently dismissed after also pulling Scipio’s dreadlocks, leaving the hosts with nine players.
The extraordinary sequence turned Scipio’s appearance into one of the most unusual moments of the international break, despite Anguilla already facing a substantial deficit when he entered the game.
The incident also highlighted one of the more unusual challenges that can arise on a football pitch when a player has exceptionally long hair.
