The Black Sea club are attempting to capitalise on stalled talks between Salah and Istanbul rivals Beşiktaş. The Black Eagles had been the frontrunners for the former Liverpool star, but negotiations broke down amid disagreements over agent commissions and image rights.
Sabuncuoğlu reported that Trabzonspor officials presented the full details of their proposal to Salah’s camp on Saturday morning. The offer consists of a guaranteed annual salary of €17m across a two-year deal. Further reports from journalist Hasan Tüncel indicated the package also includes up to €5m in performance-related bonuses, with the club seeking partial sponsor support to fund the move.
Salah’s representative is understood to have relayed the terms to the player, who is now discussing the proposal with his family before making a final decision. No agreement has been reached at this stage.
The 34-year-old left Liverpool as a free agent at the end of last season after a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield that delivered multiple Premier League titles, the Champions League and a host of individual accolades. He has attracted interest from several clubs this summer, including Saudi side Al-Ittihad, but Turkey has emerged as a serious destination.
Beşiktaş sporting director Önder Özen previously confirmed the club had stepped back from negotiations after refusing to meet what they regarded as excessive agent demands. Trabzonspor’s intervention now places direct pressure on their Super Lig rivals.
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan has previously denied reports of any agreement with Salah, insisting earlier claims of a deal were untrue. The latest reports focus solely on the submission of a formal offer rather than a completed transfer.
Salah remains a free agent and is free to choose his next destination. Any potential move to Trabzonspor would rank among the most high-profile transfers in Super Lig history.
