Jerry Afriyie Completes Move to Genk on Five-Year Deal

GENK, Belgium — Ghanaian striker Jerry Afriyie has completed his transfer to Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk.

The 19-year-old senior international has signed a five-year contract after moving from Saudi club Al-Qadsiah. Afriyie arrives in Belgium following an impressive loan spell at RAAL La Louvière, where he showcased his potential and attracted attention from top clubs in the league.

The move continues a strong run of African talent heading to Belgium. Recent arrivals include Relebohile Mofokeng at Union Saint-Gilloise, Isaac Cisse at Royal Charleroi SC, and Musa Maliq Omotayo at Zulte Waregem.

Afriyie’s arrival adds further depth and youthful energy to Genk’s attacking options. The club will look to integrate the forward into the squad as they prepare for the challenges of the new season in the Belgian Pro League and beyond.

At 19, Afriyie represents another example of the growing pipeline of promising African players choosing Belgium as a destination to develop their careers in European football.
