Speaking about the team’s style of play, Carragher suggested Liverpool currently field too many attacking players who are eager to push forward. “Liverpool have too many attacking players on the pitch, they just want to bomb forward,” he said.
Carragher also addressed the appointment of Andoni Iraola, explaining the thinking behind the decision. “That’s one of the reasons why we brought Iraola in at Liverpool, is because he plays ‘Klopp’ football, NOT because he’s won lots of trophies, NOT because he’s managed big clubs,” the pundit added.
The comments highlight ongoing discussion around Liverpool’s tactical approach and squad balance as the new season gets under way. Carragher’s observations suggest the Reds remain an unpredictable and compelling team to follow under their current setup.
