BIRMINGHAM, England — Italy’s Dariya Derkach claimed gold in the women’s triple jump at the European Championships with a personal best and European-leading mark of 14.60m.
Derkach produced the winning leap on her fourth attempt, bounding out to 14.60 metres with a legal wind reading of +1.9 to secure the title. The performance also established a new European lead for the season.
Belgium’s Saliyya Guisse took silver with a jump of 14.46m, while Bulgaria’s Aleksandra Nacheva claimed bronze with 14.40m.
The Italian athlete’s consistent series and decisive final-round effort underlined her status as one of the continent’s leading triple jumpers. The result adds a major championship medal to her collection and highlights the competitive depth in the event at the European level.
