The initiative forms part of CAF’s ongoing efforts to support clubs, strengthen football structures across the continent, and encourage greater participation in its flagship competitions — the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe has consistently stressed the importance of investing in clubs and ensuring that more teams benefit from the organisation’s growth and development programmes.
The payments will provide welcome financial support to sides that exit at the earliest stage of the 2026/27 interclub season, helping them reinvest in their squads and operations.
