The Rwandan champions controlled the contest from the outset and converted their superiority into a comfortable victory. The result provided a useful workout as APR continue their preparations for the new campaign.
Al Merrikh, the Sudanese giants, struggled to create clear opportunities against a well-organised APR side. The home team’s defensive solidity combined with sharp attacking play allowed them to maintain control throughout the match.
The convincing scoreline will boost confidence within the APR camp as they fine-tune their squad. Pre-season friendlies of this nature offer valuable minutes for players returning from the break and help the technical team assess combinations ahead of competitive fixtures.
APR will now look to build on this result as they progress through the remainder of their pre-season programme. Further details on the goalscorers and individual performances are expected to emerge as the club continues its preparations.
