Kanzari will officially begin his duties at Parc A on Monday, 27 July, overseeing first-team preparations ahead of the 2026/27 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 season.
Experienced Coach with Proven Pedigree
Kanzari arrives with a strong track record in Tunisian and regional football:
- Domestic Success: Most recently guided rivals Espérance de Tunis to a clean sweep of silverware in the 2024/25 season, winning the Ligue 1, Tunisian Cup, and Tunisian Super Cup.
- National Team Roles: Has coached Tunisia’s U17, U20, and U23 sides, with multiple stints as assistant and caretaker manager for the senior national team.
- International Experience: Has worked in the Gulf region with Qatar’s Al-Sailiya and Al-Wakrah, as well as Saudi Arabia’s Ohod Club. He also has previous spells with CA Bizertin and Stade Tunisien.
Familiar Rivalry Dynamic
This appointment adds another chapter to the intertwined careers of Kanzari and Benzarti. Kanzari previously served as Benzarti’s assistant at Espérance de Tunis (2007–2010) and with the Tunisian national team in 2018, stepping up to the head coach role after Benzarti’s departures on both occasions.
