Official: Nigerian Wonderkid Zadok Yohanna Joins Brighton in £21.5m Record-Breaking Transfer from AIK Stockholm

Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have officially completed the signing of highly-rated Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm in a blockbuster deal reportedly worth £21.5 million.

The 18-year-old sensation has signed a long-term contract with Brighton that will keep him at the club until June 2031, with the Seagulls reportedly beating four major clubs in the race for his signature.

According to multiple reports across Europe, clubs including Newcastle United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and RB Leipzig were all monitoring the Nigerian teenager before Brighton successfully sealed the transfer.

Yohanna’s move is set to become one of the biggest transfers involving a Nigerian teenager in recent years, while also breaking records in Swedish football. Reports in Sweden claim the transfer is the most expensive outgoing deal in AIK’s history and potentially one of the biggest sales ever from the Allsvenskan league.

The talented winger enjoyed a rapid rise at AIK after arriving from Nigerian academy side Ikon Allah FC. Despite making only a limited number of senior appearances, Yohanna quickly became one of Europe’s hottest young prospects thanks to his explosive pace, dribbling ability, creativity, and eye for goal.

During the 2026 season, the Nigerian youngster impressed heavily in Sweden, scoring crucial goals and attracting scouts from several top European clubs. Reports revealed that more than 30 scouts attended one of AIK’s matches earlier this year to monitor the teenager.

Brighton’s recruitment strategy has earned global praise in recent years, with the club developing young stars into elite Premier League talents. The Seagulls now see Zadok Yohanna as another major investment for the future.

The move also represents another huge moment for Nigerian football, as Yohanna continues his incredible journey from Bauchi State to the English Premier League in less than two years.

Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Yohanna expressed gratitude to AIK for helping his development both on and off the pitch.

Brighton fans will now eagerly wait to see when the exciting Nigerian winger makes his first appearance for the club ahead of the new Premier League season.
