The veteran football executive secured victory in the club’s presidential elections held on Sunday, defeating challenger Enrique Riquelme to remain at the helm of Los Blancos until 2030. Reports from Spain indicate Pérez received strong backing from the club’s socios in the first fiercely contested Real Madrid election in nearly two decades.
Speaking after the result was confirmed, Pérez declared:
“We have won the elections and we will continue working to keep winning titles.”
The 79-year-old president also emphasized his ambition to continue building a dominant Real Madrid side capable of conquering Europe once again, with the club now targeting its 16th UEFA Champions League title.
Pérez’s victory comes at a crucial moment for the club following a disappointing season without major silverware. His re-election is expected to trigger major changes both on and off the pitch, with growing reports suggesting a massive rebuild is already underway.
Spanish and international media reports claim the new presidential era could include the sensational return of legendary Portuguese manager José Mourinho, while several blockbuster transfer plans are also reportedly being prepared for the summer transfer window.
Under Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid has enjoyed one of the most successful periods in football history, winning multiple La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles while transforming the club into a global commercial powerhouse.
Now, with another mandate secured, Pérez is preparing to lead Real Madrid into another ambitious chapter filled with expectations, possible superstar signings, and renewed dreams of European dominance.
Florentino Pérez stays. A new Real Madrid era begins.
