The unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, marking a significant step in the Savannah Tigers' plans to strengthen their squad and technical structure ahead of their return to Nigeria's top-flight league.
Fresh from securing promotion back to the NPFL, Doma United are determined to establish themselves among the elite clubs in Nigerian football and have wasted no time in reinforcing their technical department.
Speaking during the unveiling, the club's Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Suleiman Umar (Mai Doma), expressed confidence in Ayeni's ability to lead the team successfully in the upcoming campaign.
According to the CEO, the appointment was based on the coach's extensive experience, tactical knowledge, and proven track record of building competitive teams capable of delivering results at the highest level.
"We believe Coach Deji Ayeni possesses the qualities needed to guide Doma United in the NPFL. His experience and technical expertise will be vital as we prepare for the challenges of top-flight football," he stated.
The club also confirmed that Coach Najib Mabo, who played a key role in guiding Doma United back to the NPFL, will remain part of the technical crew and work closely with Ayeni.
Alhaji Suleiman Umar explained that Mabo continues to be an important figure within the club's technical setup and is currently pursuing the necessary coaching certifications required to manage a team in Nigeria's elite division.
With pre-season activities now underway, players and officials are expected to intensify preparations as Doma United seek to consolidate their place in the NPFL and build a team capable of competing effectively throughout the 2026/27 season.
The appointment of Coach Ayeni forms part of the club's broader restructuring efforts aimed at ensuring stability, competitiveness, and long-term success following their promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
As anticipation builds ahead of the new campaign, supporters of the Savannah Tigers will be eager to see how the club's latest technical addition shapes their ambitions in the country's premier football competition.
