Kozák edged out Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska by just 0.02 seconds, with the home star finishing second in 12.68s after pushing hard in front of the local crowd.
American hurdler Alaysha Johnson completed the podium in third place with a time of 12.75s, following her impressive 12.68s performance in the qualifying round earlier in the competition.
The race was one of the standout moments at the World Athletics Continental Tour meeting in Bydgoszcz, showcasing elite sprint hurdling talent from across the globe.
Kozák’s victory marks another major statement in her growing international career, as the Hungarian athlete held off two world-class challengers in a tightly contested final. Skrzyszowska, one of Europe’s leading hurdlers, fought strongly but narrowly missed out on victory on home soil.
Johnson also showed strong consistency throughout the event, backing up her fast qualifying performance with another solid run in the final.
The women’s 100m hurdles final produced one of the closest finishes of the meeting and highlighted the intense competition building ahead of the major athletics championships later this season.
