Israel Adesanya’s Message After Fourth Straight Loss: “We Respawn and Go Again”

Following his fourth consecutive defeat — a second-round TKO loss to rising American contender Joe Pyfer at UFC Seattle on March 28 — former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya (The Last Stylebender) shared a heartfelt and defiant message with his fans.

“I know it’s hard on my people seeing me fall. I promise you it’s harder on me. Regardless, we respawn and go again.”

The Nigerian-New Zealander, now with a professional record of 24-6, acknowledged the pain of the losing skid while refusing to entertain thoughts of retirement. In his post-fight comments, Adesanya doubled down on his resilience, declaring:

“You keep going again and again and again… I’m not fucking leaving! You’ll never stop me. I might get beaten, but I’ll always remain undefeated.”

A Tough Period for the Stylebender

Adesanya looked sharp early against Pyfer, landing crisp strikes and punishing the lead leg with kicks. However, Pyfer’s wrestling and ground game proved decisive. He took the fight down, transitioned to back mount, flattened Adesanya out, and finished with ground-and-pound at 4:18 of Round 2.

This marks Adesanya’s longest losing streak in his combat sports career. He has not tasted victory since April 2023, going 0-4 in his last four outings (with three stoppages).

Legacy Remains Intact

Despite the current slump, Adesanya’s place in MMA history is secure. He brought flair, charisma, and global stardom to the middleweight division, inspiring countless fans — especially in Nigeria and New Zealand — with his kickboxing artistry and larger-than-life personality.

At 36, many are questioning whether this is the beginning of the end. Yet Adesanya’s fighting spirit and “respawn” mentality suggest he still believes there is more to give.

The MMA world will now wait to see what’s next for The Last Stylebender — another run at redemption, a strategic break, or one final push to silence the doubters.

Nigerian fight fans have stood by him through the highs and now the lows. His message is clear: the game isn’t over yet.
