Tunisia has been selected to host the first qualifying window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Africa Zone, with games scheduled to be played from November 27 to November 30 in the capital city of Tunis.
This qualifying window will feature teams from Group A and Group C, while teams in Group B and Group D will compete in the Second Window of Qualifiers in February 2026. The 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be the first edition of the tournament to be held in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with Qatar serving as the host nation. A total of 16 teams from Africa will be competing for five spots in the tournament.
The first round of the qualifiers features four groups of four teams, with the top three from each group advancing to the second round.
Participating Groups in the First Window:
• Group A: Cameroon, South Sudan, Libya, and Cape Verde.
• Group C: Nigeria, Rwanda, Guinea, and Tunisia.
