Rosemary Chukwuma Eliminated in Women's 100m Heats in Tokyo

Nigeria's sole entrant in the women's 100m at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, Rosemary Chukwuma, has been eliminated after finishing fourth in her heat. The 24-year-old sprinter's time of 11.27s was not enough to secure her a spot in the next round of the competition.

The race was won by Jamaica's Tina Clayton, who posted a commanding time of 11.01s. Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith finished second in 11.07s, also comfortably advancing.

The outcome marks a disappointing result for Nigeria, as Chukwuma had been relied upon to carry the nation's hopes in the blue-ribbon event. Her focus will now shift to other potential events at the championships.
