Maguire Blames Players, Not Formation, for Manchester United Struggles

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has come to the defense of manager Rúben Amorim, insisting that the team's recent struggles are the fault of the players, not the tactical system.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Maguire addressed criticism of Amorim's formation, which has come under scrutiny following a difficult start to the season. "I think the formation is an easy one to go at... because we're playing something a little bit different to everybody else," Maguire said.

He went on to state that the formation itself is not the issue. "The formation has been fine. It’s got to be down to the PLAYERS," he told the broadcaster. Maguire stressed that players need to "take their moments" and "make the difference" on the field.

The comments come as Manchester United has endured a poor run of form, with the team facing pressure after a string of disappointing results. Maguire's statements align with a broader sentiment that while the manager's tactics are a topic of debate, the players must take responsibility for their performances and execute the game plan effectively.
