Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim used a press conference to defend loanee Rasmus Højlund, while appearing to dismiss questions about another on-loan forward, Marcus Rashford.
When asked about Rashford, who recently scored a brace for Barcelona, Amorim reportedly shifted the focus to Højlund. "Rasmus Højlund also scored, I am happy for Rasmus also! It is the same thing with him guys," Amorim said. "You are so tough on Rasmus but he scored also, so let's notice that."
The Portuguese manager's comments highlight his public support for Højlund, who has faced criticism since his move to Old Trafford and is currently on loan at Napoli. In contrast, Amorim and Rashford have had a strained relationship, with the latter leaving the club on loan after a public spat over the player's commitment and professionalism.
