Paris Saint-Germain have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade. The club announced that the Super Falcons captain has joined on a free transfer from Spanish side Atlético Madrid, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2027.
The 25-year-old forward, who recently captained Nigeria to a record-extending 10th Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, expressed her excitement about the move. “I'm deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe,” Ajibade said. “This is a major step for me, and I'm committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
Ajibade joins fellow Nigerian international Jennifer Echegini at PSG, a factor she believes will help her quickly integrate into the team. Ajibade's transfer comes after a successful four-and-a-half-year spell at Atlético Madrid, where she won the Spanish Super Cup in 2021 and the Copa de la Reina in 2023.
Her arrival adds significant firepower and leadership to the PSG squad as they aim to reclaim the French league title and compete for European glory.
