In a bizarre and dramatic conclusion to the men's 4x400m relay at the Silesia Diamond League, the Hungarian quartet has been declared the official winner after the Polish team, who crossed the finish line first, was disqualified for a false start.
The Polish team initially false started but, in a rare move, decided to run the race under protest. They went on to win the race with a time of 3:00.23, but their victory was short-lived as the protest was denied.
This extraordinary turn of events handed the win to Hungary, whose second-place finish was elevated to gold. The Hungarian team's time of 3:01.46 was officially recognized as a new Diamond League Record. Spain rounded out the podium, finishing in third place with a time of 3:01.82.
