South Africa Soars to Double Gold in U20 Women’s High Jump

South Africa celebrated a historic one–two finish in the U20 women’s high jump at the African U18 & U20 Championships in Abeokuta, as Matha Nkosi and Mia Davel both cleared 1.70 m to claim gold medals.

Nkosi secured her first career continental title with a perfect series up to 1.70 m, while Davel matched her compatriot’s height. In a tactical move, Davel opted out of further attempts at 1.75 m, ensuring a shared top spot and delivering two golds for South Africa in a single event.
