Chioma Nweke Leads Nigerian 1-2 Finish to Win U20 Women's 100m GOLD in Abeokuta

Chioma Cynthia Nweke blazed to gold in the U20 women’s 100m final at the African U18 & U20 Championships in Abeokuta, clocking 11.65s (-1.9) in challenging wind conditions.

Nweke led a brilliant Nigerian 1-2, with compatriot Success Oyibu taking silver to complete a dominant sprint display by Team Nigeria.

Lou Yonan of Ivory Coast clinched the bronze, narrowly edging out Nigeria’s Lucy Nwankwo, who finished just off the podium.

It’s another major sprint statement by Nigeria on home soil as the host nation continues to shine at the championship.
