Tensions have escalated between Viktor Gyökeres and Sporting Lisbon ahead of a potential summer transfer. Despite a prior agreement allowing the striker to leave for a package worth around €65 million including add-ons, Sporting president Frederico Varandas is now demanding a higher fee following the departure of sporting director Hugo Viana.
While the new asking price remains below the official €100 million release clause, the revised valuation has disrupted the previously clear exit path. Gyökeres' camp is standing firm on the original agreement and is said to be “furious” with the unexpected change.
