In a dramatic and closely contested race at the Ostrava Golden Spike, Dylan Beard stunned the field by edging out world champion Grant Holloway to win the men’s 110m hurdles.
Both hurdlers clocked identical times of 13.13s (+0.6), but it was Beard who managed a last-gasp surge at the line to take the win in spectacular fashion.
Austria’s Enzo Diessl claimed third place with a solid time of 13.25s, while Eric Edwards finished just behind in fourth with 13.26s, marking a season’s best (SB).
Other notable performances included Jonáš Kolomazník and Štěpán Štefko setting personal bests (PB) of 13.71s and 13.87s respectively, showcasing the depth of emerging talent in the event.
Beard’s win marks a major statement as the sprint hurdles heat up ahead of the international championship season.
