According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), logistical challenges involving the visiting Cameroonian team led to the cancellation. The Lionesses arrived in Ikenne very late on Friday, following travel hitches from Cameroon, which severely disrupted their recovery plans and essential matchday protocols.
The delay made it infeasible to proceed with the fixture as originally planned. As a result, the two-leg friendly has now been reduced to a single match, which will be played on Monday, June 2, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
The Super Falcons are using these fixtures as part of their preparations for upcoming international engagements, including the 2025 WAFCON and Olympic qualifiers.
