The Super Eagles of Nigeria have emerged as champions of the 2025 Unity Cup, defeating Jamaica 5-4 on penalties after a dramatic 2-2 draw in regulation time at the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford.
Nigeria struck first through Moses Simon in the 9th minute, but Jamaica responded quickly with an equalizer from Dixon in the 12th. Samuel Chukwueze restored Nigeria’s lead in the 53rd minute, before Russell leveled for Jamaica in the 63rd, sending the match to a shootout with no extra time played.
In the penalty shootout, Jamaica missed one crucial kick, while Nigeria converted all five of theirs — sealing a 5-4 victory and lifting the coveted Unity Cup trophy.
