Veteran shot-stopper Pepe Reina has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 42, drawing the curtain on an illustrious career that spanned over two and a half decades.
Reina made a staggering 987 appearances across club and international football and lifted 11 major trophies, including domestic league titles, cups, and continental honors. He also claimed the Premier League Golden Glove award three times during his memorable stint at Liverpool.
Having begun his senior career in 1999, Reina remained a top-level professional until 2025, earning respect for his consistency, leadership, and shot-stopping ability.
