NPFL: Sunshine Stars FC 2 Doma United 0 - MD16

Goals from Isaac Emmanuel and Opeoluwa Olufemi in the 20th and 47th minutes respectively was all Sunshine stars Fc needed to pick maximum three points against visiting Doma United.

The match started few minutes past four as players and officials of both sides observed a minute silence for Sunshine stars assistant kit manager Taiwo Dosumu and Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who passed on.

Sunshine stars wasted no time in settling into the game with Opeoluwa Olufemi calling Osayi Kingdom into action following a long range shot from 25 yards.

In the 27th minutes, Doma United mounted pressure in Sunshine stars half combining well at the edge of the box to create a chance, but Mustafa lawal in goal for Sunshine stars saves superbly.

The first half Ended 1-0 in favour of the home team with few chances created by both sides.

On resumption into the second half , Sunshine stars Fc increased the tempo immediately and attacked from the right flank with beautiful displays from Isaac Emmanuel and Osahon Nelson.

The trio perfectly dispossessed Doma United defenders, dazzled in to create a chance for goal sensation Opeoluwa Olufemi who wasted no time in picking his angle to slot home the second for Sunshine stars.

Coach Onigbinde of Doma United made changes seven minutes after conceeding the second goal but Sunshine stars defenders marshalled.

In the 65th minutes , Edith Agoye introduced Lucky Nwafor to add bite upfront as Aniete Uko made way.

Ten minutes later, jide Jimoh and Dennis Chigozie were introduced by Edith Agoye.

This time Nelson Osahon and iwundu Chigozie made way.

In the 85th minutes Lucky Nwafor was so Unlucky not to have added the third goal for Sunshine stars following a counter attack , Taiwo Rafiu perfectly gave a clear pass but Lucky's shot was blocked with Osayi Kingdom the only one to beat.

The match eventually ended 2-0 in favour of Sunshine stars FC.

Edith Agoye In his post match interview, appreciated the teaming fans who came out in large numbers to cheer his team. 

The gaffer also commended his players for putting up a good fight, saying his side scored beautiful goals.
