2023 U-17 AFCON kicks off today as Algeria face Somalia in the Opening Game

By Emmanuel Oladele - The 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off today Saturday in Algeria as host Algeria U-17 will face debutant Somalia U-17 in the opening fixture at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers. The match will kick off at 20:00 West Africa Time. See details below;

Today's only fixture is from Group A, which has Algeria, Somalia, Senegal and Congo.

The opening day will witness only one game as other matchday 1 fixtures for Group A and others Groups will be played in subsequent days.

The tournament will hold between 29th April to 19th May 2023 in Algeria. 12 Teams from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will be participating in the competition.
