Madagascar beat Niger to win 2022 CHAN Third Place Game

By Emmanuel Oladele - Madagascar on Friday defeated Niger Republic by 1-0 in the third place game of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Madagascar midfielder Jean Yves Razafindrakoto scored the only goal of the encounter in the 89th minute to earn the Madagascans a vital win in the third place game. Niger Goalkeeper's error cost the Nigeriens, as Djibrilla Kassali Djibo spilled the ball to the path of Razafindrakoto inside the 18-yard box, making it easy for the attacking midfielder to smash home a superb finish.

Madagascar dominated the game and were able to show class over the Nigeriens.

Following Madagascar 1-0 win over Niger Republic on Friday at the Miloud Hadefi stadium in Oran, Madagascar are 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) third place winners.

Meanwhile, the final of the tournament holds today between host Algeria and Senegal at 20:30 WAT.
