By Olamide Oyetunji - Saudi Arabia defender Yasser Al Shahrani has suffered a fractured jaw and broken his left facial bones after his horrific injury in match against Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2022.
He suffered the unfortunately and scary head injury in the closing moments of his team’s historic 2-1 win over Argentina in their World Cup opener on Tuesday and will need rapid surgical intervention due to internal bleeding according to reports.
The 30-year-old was unintentionally rendered unconscious during stoppage time by his own goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais.
Saudi Prime Minister Prince Mohammad Bin Salman gave order for the urgent and emergency transfer of Yasser Al Shahrani from Qatar to Germany for proper treatment.
